A lot has changed, but not enough!</title><description>&lt;p&gt;I guess it&amp;#8217;s been about a year since I wrote anything on this blog. I got caught up in&amp;#8212;how do I put it?&amp;#8212;Life.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;One of my goals for 2011 was to get to the best Me possible. I did a lot of other things (including actually completing my reading goal on Goodreads AND sorting out my &amp;#8220;health issues&amp;#8221;). I did not, however, take back full control of my diet and exercise. I was back on track in October, before I injured my IT band and &amp;#8230;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It&amp;#8217;s 2012 and, though I have many goals (reading 50 books this year!), I am determined to keep trying. I&amp;#8217;m OK with failure, as long as I always get back up after I stumble. So, here&amp;#8217;s my attempt at, not just a better version of ME, but the best version.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;m starting a week late due to illness. On New Year&amp;#8217;s Day, I came down with something and now am feeling well enough to get started on my journey. As before, I will be tracking diet and exercise here.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;My diet is a low-calorie (1,200-1,800 daily), whole-food diet (accommodating both citrus and dairy allergies). This is designed for weight-loss of approximately 15 lbs or my feel-great weight, whichever comes first. Upon reaching that weight I will carefully increase my intake in order to maintain, but not gain weight.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;My exercise plan includes 6 days of cardio and 6 days of strength training (alternating muscle-groups every other day). Of you think 6 days is too much, rest assured that the first week will be pretty mellow because I am weak and stiff, AND doing too much too fast gets you injured.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This blog is for me, but if it inspires or helps others, that&amp;#8217;d make me pretty damn happy.&lt;/p&gt;
